Wine List

We are proud of our extensive wine list, chosen to showcase the finest wines of the world, especially the vibrant, outstanding, aromatic whites from Leelanau and Old Mission, to compliment your meal at The Bluebird.

Please note: All of our wines are available for take-out at reduced prices. Also, due to recent changes in Michigan Law, we can now re-cork your wine should you not finish your bottle, and you can enjoy the remainder at home, or better yet, on the beach!

WHITE WINES BY THE GLASS 

NV Good Harbor Fishtown White – Leland – Deliciously fruity, semi-dry white made from chardonnay, seyval blanc, and vignoles. Great with our Whitefish and other mild dishes. – 7.

’17 Verterra Riesling “Late Harvest” – Leland – A bright burst of vibrant, semi-sweet apple scents usher in a full, rich palate that makes a great cocktail, aperitif, or accompaniment to fish, salads, and fruit-based sauces or desserts. – 8.

‘17 Babich Sauvignon Blanc – Marlborough, New Zealand – Zesty grapefruit and lime flavors greet your first sip, and hints of tropical fruit and herbs follow.  A great, dry white that pairs so well with shellfish. – 8.

‘17 Verterra Pinot Grigio – Leland – Clean citrus and apple scents with melon and stone nuances.  The perfect dry wine with Whitefish, Walleye, or other local fishes.  The mid-palate bursts with lovely fruit. – 8.

‘17 Chat. Fontaine Pinot Gris - Lake Leelanau - Fresh, delicious pear and citrus fruit flavors, with hints of minerals adding complexity, make this a perfect partner with seafood. – 7.

‘17 Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay – California – This California classic is back on our glass pour list by popular demand.  Rich and ripe, plenty of oak, and a lush, delicious style that is always a crowd-pleaser. – 9.

‘16 Black Star Farms “Sur-lie:” Chardonnay – This unoaked Chardonnay has a full, lush palate of ripe pear and apple hints.  Firm acidity as we have come to love with local wines, this pairs well with fish, pasta, and chicken dishes. – 10.

‘16 Black Star Farms “Arcturos” Pinot Noir Rosé – Refreshing wine, this well-chilled rosé is medium-dry with hints of rose petal and crushed strawberry aroma and cherry on the palate.  – 8.

RED WINES BY THE GLASS 

‘17 Monterey Canyon Pinot Noir – Monterey, Cal. – Classic dark cherry and floral scents, in a lush, ripe style.  Rich and medium-full bodied with a long finish.  Pairs well with meats, cheeses, and richer fish and poultry dishes. – 9.

‘17 Verterra “Chaos Red” – Leland – A unique “field blend” of red grapes including Merlots, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Marquette, with a fruit forward, easy going structure that is great with BBQ, all meats, and by itself – 7.

‘18 Villa des Anges Cabernet Sauvignon – Languedoc, France – Rich, dark cherry flavors with lush blackberry and a bit of earthy spice in this firmly structured red from South-central France.  Great vintage of this wine and good with meats and BBQ. – 7.

’17 Columbia Winery Merlot – Washington – Cool climate Merlot with ripe, dark fruit giving a lush flavor profile, while firm acidity and tannic structure add backbone and complexity.  A great pairing with meats or by itself. – 9.

‘17 Zolo Malbec – Mendoza, Argentina – From a variety of high altitude, sustainably-grown Mendoza vineyards, this has dark blackberry and raspberry flavors and aromas, scents of oak, and a lush texture. – 8.

‘17 Substance Cabernet Sauvignon – Washington State – Dark and rich, a classic Washington Cabernet showing blackberry, dark cherry, and cassis flavors and a hint of smoky oak.  Plenty of length and a fine tannic finish gives good balance and structure. – 12.
